Directions

Arriving from the direction of Keswick – take the A66 in the direction of Penrith. Pass Threlkeld village on the left and continue up the hill for one and a quarter miles. Look for a sign for Scales and a signboard for the White Horse Inn on your left. Above the board there is a silhouette of a white horse. Take the turning by this sign and Scales Farm is the first building on your left before the White Horse. We have plenty of off-road parking in our private car park by the near end of the buildings. (Entrance on the left – this is a tight turn, you may find it easier to turn outside the White Horse and approach the car park from the opposite direction.)

Arriving from the M6 at Penrith – leave at junction 40 and take the A66 in the direction of Keswick. At eleven miles from the motorway look for a small turning to the right , signposted for Scales and with a board for the White Horse Inn with a silhouette of a white horse. Take this turning and Scales Farm is ahead, next-door to the White Horse. We have plenty of off-road parking in our private car park at the far end of the buildings. (Entrance on the right, up the drive.)

Sat Nav Users – Please note that if you use our post code as your destination most sat navs will direct you a quarter of a mile down the A66 from Scales Farm.

Arriving by Train – There is a main line train service into Penrith with an excellent service to London and Glasgow. If you are travelling by train, we can pick you up from Penrith station.

Arriving by Bus – There are regular bus services from Penrith or Keswick which stop directly opposite Scales Farm. Ask the driver to stop at the White Horse, Scales.
