About Scales Farm
Scales Farm is a farmhouse and barn dating from 1650s. It was converted and modernised from a farm to a guest house in the early 80s with extensive but sensitive modernisation such that many original features have been retained. In 2015 further modernisation of the bathrooms, hot water and heating systems were completed with the utilisation of a renewable energy boiler.
About Us – Ivan & Helen
We first discovered the Lake District by chance in the 90’s when, as helpers at our children’s Scout Group we offered to assist with their annual visit to the Lakes. We were immediately smitten, sufficiently so to become hill walking leaders! A role we continued for 15 years.
After many years of working in London we finally made the big jump North purchasing Scales Farm as we loved the view to Clough Head. We continue to fell walk each week and enjoy being able to setup our guests ready for their days in the Lakes.
