TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Thank you for choosing to book with Scales Farm Country Guest House, we look forward to welcoming you. When you make this booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below. They are not too long and use plain English.
Prices and payment
The price includes accommodation plus any board indicated. Unless clearly stated on the booking form all extras such as packed lunches, evening meals etc will be charged additionally.
We accept the following forms of payment: cash, cheque, debit cards, credit cards, bank Transfer.
For all bookings we require a non-refundable deposit of 20% to confirm the booking. This will be charged to your payment card when you book. We will send you an email confirming the booking and letting you know what the outstanding balance is. The balance will be taken at the end of your stay by cash, cheque, card or Bank transfer. It does not have to be the same method or card as used for your deposit.
Cancellations, amendments and insurance
If you need to cancel or amend your booking please contact us immediately.
Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and your deposit is non-refundable. However if you give us 14 days notice and make an alternative booking we will transfer your deposit to the alternative booking.
If for whatever reason you cannot take up your booking or cut your stay short without giving us 14 days notice and the accommodation cannot be re-let, you are still liable for the full cost of booking, even if we have not yet received your balance. If we do succeed in re-letting the booking, you are no longer liable for the balance, or we will refund it to you if you have already paid it, less a £5 administration fee.
For this reason you may wish to take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.
Non-availability of accommodation
We will endeavour to allocate specifically requested accommodation, but reserve the right to alter this if necessary.
We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you an alternative date or alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Occupancy
Under no circumstances may the number of people using the accommodation exceed the number stated on your booking.
Arrival and departure
Your accommodation will be available to you from 2pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. You may arrive earlier to leave your luggage or park your car. Please let us know if you plan to do this.
Please let us know if you plan to arrive after 9 pm.
Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 10am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged.
Smoking
We are a completely smoke free establishment with smoke detectors in all public areas and guest rooms. Ample space is available within our garden to facilitate smoking, please place buts in the sand buckets provided.
We reserve the right to charge £50 for the cleaning of rooms contaminated by smoking plus a nightly charge if the room has to be taken out of use.
Pets
Well behaved pets are permitted within our pet friendly rooms and guest lounge on the ground floor at the cost declared on our tariff per night. Please bring your pets bedding with you. Please note pets are not allowed in the Breakfast room during breakfast for hygiene and allergy reasons.
Children
A cot and highchair are available for babies and young children.
Groups
We do not accept bookings for groups of more than 14 people as this is the maximum seating capacity within our breakfast room. The whole property may be booked; please contact us directly for more details.
Damage and breakages
Please take care with our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but reserve the right to charge for repair or making good if the damage, breakage or cleaning need is significant. This cost will be charged to the card used when booking if not reported.
Liability
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
Data
Any personal data gathered during the course of this booking may be held on computer for future marketing. Financial data is removed and/or destroyed once your stay is complete.
